Short-Term Trade: Japan

Japan, Micron Trade Update, and Hedge Funds Deleveraging

New trade: Japan By @Ben Cap$ 27.03.2025

Been looking for trade ideas outside the US given the challenging environment.

Japan looks interesting for a short-term trade. Its trading range has held up, with potential for the index to push towards 40K, given capital inflows from March dividend reinvestments and portfolio position reloading from domestic investors for the fiscal new year starting April 1st . Q4 earnings season starting around late April could also be a catalyst for the Japan market.

Japan stocks have loss some momentum, and largely fallen out of the spotlight. The August 5 selloff did a lot of damage and most likely shook many investors. Given the market conditions in the US, we are already seeing increased capital flows to Europe. Japan seems like a logical extension of that trend.

Fundamental equity funds have continued to reduced market exposure, resulting in the largest…
